As we completed the acquisition of INV Metals and began integration activities, we made a commitment to openly and transparently communicate any organizational changes in as timely a manner as possible. In keeping with that commitment, today we are sharing an important leadership update regarding DPM Ecuador.
After leading the growth and development of the Loma Larga project and in-country exploration activities for the past twenty-three years, Jorge Barreno, General Manager, Ecuador, will be stepping down from his role, effective November 30th, 2021.
Jorge has a long history with the Loma Larga project and exploration in Ecuador, originally starting as Administrative Manager before his responsibilities increased to include management of the exploration programs, followed by his appointment as General Manager. Throughout his tenure, Jorge has been a dedicated advocate for the responsible development of Loma Larga and has built a strong in-country team that is committed to bringing this world-class asset into production.
While he is stepping down from his current position, Jorge will be transitioning to an advisory capacity and will continue to support Loma Larga’s development and contribute his valuable experience and expertise to the team.
We will be conducting a search for Jorge’s successor. In the interim, Jorge will continue in his current role during this period and will continue to help support integration activities and the ongoing development of the project.
Towards the end of November, we plan to host a celebration in recognition of Jorge’s many years of service to Loma Larga and exploration projects in Ecuador.
Please join us in wishing Jorge all the best for the future and thanking him for his many contributions to the Loma Larga project.
