Area of Influence of Hanrine Mining Company Holds Control Actions in Buenos Aires

On August 3, Ecuador finally regained institutional control of a tiny part of its territory, Buenos Aires parish handcuffed by 40 radical anti-miners.

They carried out practices such as burning camps, intimidating people, beatings, media lynchings, and insulting the press that disseminates the reality of that place.

The public force had to act in Buenos Aires parish because these groups against mining and illegal miners controlled the entrance to the area based on a discourse related to the resistance. Although it is a human right, it does not imply the possibility of applying physical aggression to a person, damaging private property, and, above all, falsifying the truth.

From now on, the anti-miners must understand that the protest channels are not subjective or authoritarian criteria but those who are within the law, that is, actions that do not violate the rights of other citizens.

Therefore, the mining resistance can be expressed in social networks, in chants, peaceful protests, but not in the impediment of free movement, even less in the use of physical violence and force.

This recovery of the national territory represents prosperous news for all citizens, including those who oppose the development of mining.

The mining sector and investment in this area are favored by this action of the public order forces since it allows the work and development of Ecuador to achieve economic reactivation.
